My first novel was published in January 2022. Since then, I've been writing a few sentences every now and then to keep my creativity going. However, I am not writing another novel yet. If you've been following me for some time, you probably know that this year's focus is the completion of my PhD. So, will there still be a book in 2023? Read on to find out.
With such a big goal, completing a PhD, it really is difficult to find the time, the energy, the mood to write another book at the same time. Writing a 60.000-words PhD thesis is so much like writing a novel; my novel was about 77.000 words, by the way. The only difference is that it has to be as formal as possible. Unfortunately, you can't swear in your PhD.
With that said, people are asking me if I will be publishing anything in the near future. A short story at least. Well, the answer is yes!
Although I do not write as much as I used to, I still have completed stories laying around with no purpose. One option I have is to publish (some of) these stories separately or in a collection. Another option is revisiting a previously published story, and maybe publishing a second edition.
