We need a BREAK

Millennials have been having a bad day every day for the last... oh wait, forever.

Just in the Balkans, in the countries I'm from (a small portion of land compared to the entire planet) in my little life, I have seen the fall of the Government, a civil war, immigration, systemic racism, homelessness, poverty, recession, pandemics, inflation. I won't clarify which ones affected me personally and which ones affected my family members, because that's not the point. On a larger scale, people my age have witnessed the energy crisis, housing crisis, climate crisis, terrorism, famine, wars... just to name a few. I'm sure you all have your own stories to tell.

After 2 years of the Coronavirus (which got me sick twice, by the way, having had 3 vaccine shots) we started seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. We expected it to be close to over by the summer of 2022, when we would have been regaining our freedom.

And then Russia invaded Ukraine and threatened to start a nuclear war.

We all know what a nuclear war could do to humanity, our cities, the animal kingdom and the environment. But this is not my story to tell. I'm not from either country, I am not a political commentator, nor am I a military commentator. So whatever I say about this invasion could not and should not be taken gravely. And that's why I won't write about it here. Just as I haven't written about any other war on my blog. I just wanted to take a minute to acknowledge everything we're all feeling right now. Fear, anger, sadness, anxiety, hopelessness...

Personally, I'm taking the time to process my emotions and spend time with the people that matter, and with my pets, because they're all I've got.
